Switzerland: Agri-machinery co plans buyout of German automation system maker

Switzerland-based Bucher Industries, which manufactures agricultural equipment, announced Monday plans to acquire Germany-based Jetter, which makes automation systems, in a deal worth about $30 million. Bucher currently owns 20 percent in the company.

    The deal, which remains subject to regulatory approval, is a strategic move for Bucher to enter into the industrial automation sector. The two have held a partnership since 2002; reports say about half of Jetter’s sales from Bucher.
