UK: Competitors jump at Aer Lingus opportunities following CC ruling

Following the UK’s Competition Commission ruling that low budget airline Ryanair must divest its nearly 30 percent stake in rival Aer Lingus down to just five percent, reports say competitors are jumping at the opportunity to grab the Aer Lingus shares.

    Three suitors have already been speculated to mull Aer Lingus buyouts, say reports. The merger talks remain confidential, however, and local media are reporting Aer Lingus to be in discussions with one unnamed airline.

    The airline assured that any deal will not likely carry out anytime soon.
