UK: Banking competition vital to economic recovery, warns EEF

Manufacturers organization EEF warned politicians that economic recovery efforts based on business investment risk failure without boosted competition between banks. The group, which represents manufacturers and engineers throughout the UK, sent its warning to the Parliamentary Commission on Banking Standards; specifically, the EEF said medium- and small-sized businesses need improved access to banking services and, in the current banking climate, many businesses “have disengaged from banks all together.”
