US: Should PA newspaper be allowed to review sealed antitrust case docs?

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has gone to court in efforts to review sealed documents produced from a separate antitrust case concerning health insurers in Pennsylvania. According to reports, arguments were heard Thursday over whether the newspaper should be allowed to review the documents, which include motions and exhibits that are part of a case in which the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center is accusing health insurer Highmark of monopolizing the western region of the state. The newspaper’s lawyers have filed a motion claiming its request to review the documents follows legal precedents, further arguing that it is part of the public’s rights to judicial records to have the paper review the documents. Both the university and Highmark have requested that the documents remain sealed.
