Luxembourg: DeBeers customers to see settlement payments five years later

Diamond giant DeBeers will be dishing out settlement payments to consumers after the company made a $300 million settlement five years ago over allegations of antitrust violations. A class of consumers claimed the company colluded to fix prices and monopolize diamond suppliers, among other violations. Consumers who are eligible for a payout must have filed a claim by May 2008 and bought DeBeers diamond products between January 1, 194 and March 31, 2006. The diamond company was founded and is based in Luxembourg.
