UK: Future of Global Radio divestments still a mystery

According to reports, the UK’s radio market is focusing on its biggest mystery as of late: who will buy the radio stations that Global Radio has been forced to sell? The UK’s Competition Commission required that Global Radio sell at least seven of its stations to quell competition concerns in various geographical regions. According to some experts, the sales may prove difficult as the stations remain in regions that do not generate much money or audience numbers. Global Radio has until the end of July to finalize the divestments, according to the Competition Commission.
