Norway: Orkla wins approval for 90.11% buyout of food giant

Norway’s Competition Authority has given the green light for Orkla, one of Norway’s largest companies active within the foods and chemicals markets, to purchase 90.11% in food manufacturer Rieber & Son ASA. Following the approval, the parties expect the transaction to be complete within the next week. Antitrust regulators in the European Union as well as Russia have already offered approvals for the deal as well. The value of the transaction was not disclosed.
