US: Manufacturer buyout case settles with FTC, no fine issued

The Federal Trade Commission has settled a dispute concerning acquisitions made by infant product manufacturer Graco in 2005 and 2008 and will not issue a fine regarding the issued. The company is a top producer of products such as paint sprayers and insulation products. According to reports, the FTC had accused Graco of violating antitrust law concerning its acquisitions of Gusmer Corp and GlasCraft Inc, which the FTC found to be Graco’s biggest rivals within the North American market for equipment used to install home insulation. Graco, based in Minneapolis, will not be issued a fine and remains steadfast to its innocence.
