Japan/India: Auto parts joint venture allowed to proceed

The Competition Commission of India has giving formal approval for a joint venture between Pricol Ltd, based in India, and Denso Corporation, based in Tokyo, in their auto component making endeavors. According to reports, Pricol will transfer one of its undertakings, focused on four-wheeler personal passenger vehicles, to is subsidiary Pricol Components Ltd. Following the transfer, Denso plans to acquire a 51 percent stake in Pricol Components Ltd. The CCI noted that, in part because the entities plan to co-control the new entity, there is little cause for concern.
