South Korea: New antitrust leader out over scandal

Han Man-soo, elected by South Korean president Park Geun-hye to become the nation’s antitrust chief, has reportedly withdrawn his own nomination following outcries accusing Man-soo of scandal. And opposition lawmaker has called out the nominee for avoiding taxes by storing millions of dollars overseas. Man-soo has not commented on the matter. The issue forces president Geun-hye to face her latest obstacle since coming into office about a month ago – since, five other cabinet members elected by the president have similarly withdrawn their nominations. According to reports, the resignations signal an ever-growing gap between political parties.
