US: Energy cos announce $1.5B transaction

A $1.5 billion transaction has been agreed upon by energy companies as Energy Transfer Partners, LP and Energy Transfer Equity, LP announced their affiliate will sell Southern Union Gathering Company, LLC to Regency Energy Partners LP. The deal is subject to antitrust regulatory review. A press release announced the deal is part of an effort for ETP and ETE to “optimize their asset portfolios.”
