US: Dell wants to cash-in on cathode ray tube price-fixing

Dell is reportedly suing manufacturers of cathode ray tubes for price-fixing despite the fact Dell “rarely” uses the part in its products anymore. Dell Inc. filed the suit in Austin against Philips Electronics North America, Irico Display Devices Co. and other companies on the tails of a massive antitrust sweep of CRT price-fixers by the Department of Justice, European Commission and the Korea Fair Trade Commission. Dell claims it suffered damages from the price fixing between 1995 and 2007.
