US: Airline parts plant still in limbo after UTC/Goodrich merger

The Department of Justice is reportedly sticking to its decision to have United Technologies Corp. divest some of its assets in response to competition concerns over its acquisition of Goodrich Corp., which occurred last year for $16.5 billion. Media are reporting that UTC’s acquisition of a plant in Troy, Ohio – which was part of the deal with Goodrich – raised concerns and lead the DOJ to order UTC to divest assets in various other cities and states. The plant in Troy manufactures aircraft wheels and brakes.
