Canada’s Competition Bureau has turned its attention to the mobile telecom sector. According to reports, the Bureau made a submissions to the nation’s Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission requesting certain changes to be made within the cellphone sector, mostly focused on how companies in the market make misrepresenting claims to consumers and their mobile phone contracts. Specifically, the Bureau is concerned over cell phone companies’ practices of discouraging customers from switching networks. In a statement, the authority said the changes would lead to “greater competitive forces” in the market.
