Australia: Antitrust lawyer Dave Poddar joins Sydney branch of Clifford Chance
The antitrust lawyer who recently worked with Emirates airlines on its proposed merger with Qantas Airways has reportedly joined the UK’s highest-grossing law firm in its Sydney branch, according to reports. Dave Poddar has joined Clifford Chance LLP, whose revenue rose 28 percent in the Asia-Pacific region in the year ended April 30. Those gains were aided by new offices in Sydney and Perth as well as an alliance in Singapore over the last two years. Poddar recently worked at Mallesons Stephen Jaques, then at Allen & Overy in 2011, though he did not discuss his decision to leave Alen & Overy.
