US: Massachusetts prioritizes competition as casino applications flow in

Casino gaming developers have poured in last-minute applications to the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, reassuring commission Chairman Steve Crosby that the commission’s original goal of healthy competition in the state’s new casino market is being met. A total of eleven casinos are now bidding to open across the state, with the most competition for casino licenses in the western portion of Massachusetts. Among the bidders include MGM Resorts International, Caesars and Hard Rock. Massachusetts passed an extension to its gambling law last year.
