US: Bid-rigging among allegations in case against Georgia county CEO

Delkab County, Georgia’s CEO Burrell Ellis is reportedly under investigation for allegations of bid-rigging, among other fraudulent offenses. Specifically, Ellis is accused of favoring campaign donors to receive county contracts pertaining to the county’s water and sewer department. Reports have noted that Ellis’ former campaign manager is also being investigated; the office of the political consultant and attorney was raided by officials on Monday. Ellis’ own home and offices were also searched for financial and digital records, along with any records that may play as evidence to build a case. Ellis denies the allegations.
