Netherlands: Fox lands control over soccer match broadcasts

The Netherlands Competition Authority has approved for Fox International Channels to buy the company that holds the broadcasting rights for Eredivisie, the top division of the nation’s soccer teams. The deal has been made to be in effect through 2025, where Fox will pay the clubs in the Eredivisie $104 million a year; the terms of the deal also say that Fox will take a majority stake of 51 percent in Eredivisie Media and Marketing, who holds those broadcasting rights.
