Australia: Multinational cable cos fail to stop bid-rigging suit

Several cable suppliers, including Prysmian SpA (based in Italy), Nexans (based in France), and other Japanese companies, have failed to stop the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission from charging the companies over bid-rigging allegations. According to the ACCC, the companies, which also include Viscas Corp., Exsym Corp. and J-Power Systems Corp, are accused of forming a cartel to limit competition by setting bid prices for cable supplies.
