Mexico: Landline co. hopes to stay afloat through new deal

In efforts to prevent defaulting on its debt, Mexico’s second-largest landline company is seeking approval for a deal with American Tower Corp. from the nation’s antitrust authority. Axtel SAB will have its deal reviewed by the authority on Monday. The company is reportedly trying to raise as much as $300 million as it struggles to compete with America Mobil SAB. The parties involved have not commented on the matter, though the antitrust authority has posted on its website that the review will occur.
