India: For second time, Intel probed for monopolistic behavior

India’s antitrust authority is currently reviewing Intel for alleged monopolistic behavior. The Competition Commission of India has received complaints by the chip-maker’s former distributor eSys Technologies, allegedly for selling its products below market price. Intel has denied the claims and says it intends to cooperate fully with the regulators. Intel has been investigated before for anticompetitive behavior in India, and was fined $1.4 billion in 2009 by the European Commission for similar charges.
