E.U.: Commission allows joint buyout of Polish insurance company

The European Commission has announced its approval for Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company from Japan and Talanx International AG from Germany to jointly buy HDI, based in Poland. Talanx and Meiji Yasuda had previously joined forces in 2011 when the two companies acquired WARTA, a case that aided the Commission in its decision as the 2011 deal did not hamper competition in the insurance market.
