E.U.: Commission suggests fixing price of carbon

The European Commission has proposed to deliberately manipulate the price of carbon by postponing the auction of 900 billion emission allowances until 2019 and 2020. Experts estimate the price of carbon may rise to €15 per ton by the end of the project, though note there is no guarantee the plan would work. Majority support from national governments is necessary for the project to become law. Experts also expect Poland to oppose the idea as a nation that relies on coal.
