Spain: €88.5 m fine for shipping companies’ cartel

Spain has fined several shipping companies a total of €88.5 million for forming a cartel within the passenger and cargo markets between 2002 and 2010. The fines come after an investigation where the CNC has found proof of the cartel, finding that the shipping companies collectively shared information and fixed prices on routes that linked the Spanish Peninsula and Morocco.
