Belgium: Rail users accuse Dutch Rail of abuse of dominance over Rotterdam/Antwerp line

An increase in fair prices on a rail line running from Rotterdam to Antwerp has caused Rover, a train users group, to send a formal complaint to Belgium’s competition authority NMa. Dutch Rail has decided to void all discount cards on trains on the route and has forced travelers to use only by Fyra, a more expensive high-speed train, starting December 9. The complaint accuses Dutch Rail of abusing its monopoly dominance, stating that the decision may force some travels to pay double what they had previously paid to ride the line.
