U.S.: Health insurers maintain expectations for merger despite DOJ review extension
An extension to the review of Aetna Inc.’s acquisition of Coventry Health Care Inc. is not expected to push back the company’s plans to close the deal in mid-2013, the health insurance companies said. The two companies have been under review by the U.S. Department of Justice for the $5.7 billion merging plans. The DOJ’s decision to extend its review adds another 30 days.
