India: Complaints against Lamborghini not upheld by CCI

Allegations against Italian luxury carmaker Lamborghini brought to the Competition Commission of India have been rejected by the antitrust authority. Exclusive Motors Private brought the complaint against Automobili Lamborghini S P A, who claimed the Italian company abused their dominant position in India’s market. The CCI rejected to investigate the matter, however, on the grounds that Lamborghini do not, in fact, hold a dominant position to abuse. The complaint was filed as Lamborghini reportedly reserves its right to independently and directly import their own cars to India, despite an agreement made in 2005 for Exclusive Motors to import and deal the Italian cars.
