U.S.: Lens-wear company investigated for keeping prices high

A Florida federal judge stepped-in to intervene on a case of the Federal Trade Commission investigating Transition Optical Inc., ordering the lens-wear company to hand in documents related to the company’s business practices. A suit was filed against the lens-wear company over anti-competitive strategies aimed at keeping prices high for their UV-ray-resistant lens products. The multidistrict litigation case was initiated by putative purchaser classes.
