U.K.: SCC announces plans with money earned through sale of wholesale business
In the wake of Tech Data’s acquisition of Specialist Distribution Group, owned by SCC, for £220 million, SCC has announced it will use the money gained from the deal to invest in “high-margin segments,” according to SCC chief executive James Rigby. Among those segments includes data storage networks, including the cloud, after the company won rights to sell secure cloud services to government entities in the U.K. Rigby says the company has drawn up a plan targeted at “mid-sized companies and government organizations across Europe.”
