E.U.: New appeals rules concern antitrust lawyers

Antitrust lawyers are concerned over a recent decision by the European Union that says parties will now have to prove why they deserve an oral argument when appealing decisions, worrying that the complexity of some antitrust suites may not get the time they deserve in front of a judge. The changes by the EU went into effect on Wednesday. Under the new rules, courts can still refuse to hear appeals as the EU makes an effort to maintain an increasing volume of cases.
