Australia: ACCC report suggests excessive prices in stevedore services

The ACCC has found productivity has fallen among the continent’s stevedores despite the fact that profits have increased. The antitrust watchdog found that the industry’s profitability is “significantly above” the ASX top 200 company average, as well as “all overseas container operators.” The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission published their findings in its 14th stevedore report, which found rates of return increased between 2010-11 and 2011-12 reports from 24.2 percent to 29.2 percent.
