Ireland: Concerns that National Consumer Agency will lose power when combined into Competition Authority

Ireland’s National Consumer Agency is faced with the threat of losing power when the entity merges with the Competition Authority, according to some experts. Of specific concern is consumer rights. The NCA being absorbed by the Competition Authority has been planed for nearly two years. The current chair for the Competition Authority, Isolde Goggin, will be chairperson-designate for the new body.
