U.S.: Settlement fees available for LCD consumers

The $1.1 billion settlement over the price-fixing of LCD flat-screen makers in the U.S. is now up for grabs to consumers. The case was settled among several LCD manufacturers and electronics companies including AU Optronics, G Display and Toshiba, who collectively agreed to pay $543.5 million in a multi-state case. $692 million of the fine will be offered to consumers who have bought LCD flat-screens between 1999 and 2006; claims must be filed by early December.
