CADE approves Casino takeover of Grupo Pão de Açúcar

Brazil’s antitrust regulator, CADE (Conselho Administrativo de Defesa Econômica), has approved Casino’s takeover of Grupo Pão de Açúcar. Grupo Pão de Açúcar is Brazil’s top retailer for food, electronic goods, and home appliances, and the nation’s second-largest online retailer. It is Latin America’s second-biggest retailer.
