Gowlings partner is new Senior Deputy Commissioner of the Comp. Bureau’s mergers branch

Kelley McKinnon has been appointed Senior Deputy Commissioner of the Competition Bureau’s mergers branch. The Senior Deputy Commissioner oversees the work of the mergers branch and makes recommendations to the Commissioner on all merger reviews.

    McKinnon will be taking a leave of absence from Gowling Lafleur Henderson, where she is a partner and head of the firm’s securities litigation practice. Before joining Gowling Lafleur Henderson, McKinnon served as Deputy Director of Enforcement and Chief Litigation Counsel at the Ontario Securities Commission.

    McKinnon’s term begins on August 7 and will be for two years.
