In light of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission’s (ACCC) expectation that NBN will offer a revised undertaking, the regulator will suspend its assement of the Special Access Undertaking (SAU). The SAU, offered by NBN in December 2011, established a framework for access to NBN’s fiber, wireless, and satellite networks.
NBN decided to amend the SAU in response to feedback. ACCC Chairman Rod Sims sees the revision as “a constructive move towards establishing reasonable access arrangements for the NBN.” Among other changes, the revised undertaking will provide more reasonable constraints on NBN’s pricing.
