Airlines accused of colluding over S. Korea-Mongolia route

On May 28, the South Korean Fair Trade Commission had ordered Korean Air Lines and Miat Mongolian Airlines to correct unfair practices on the Incheon-Ulan Bator route. The competition watchdog alleged that the two airlines colluded to keep competitors out of the route since 2005, leading to higher prices and fewer choices for flights. In addition, Korean Air is accused of trying to influence bilateral aviation talks by offering trip incentives to Mongolian government officials and their relatives.
