The U.K. Office of Fair Trading is considering Edmundson Electrical Limited’s undertakings to resolve competition concerns created by its acquisition of Electric Center. Although the two parties are two of the largest electrical wholesalers in the United Kingdom, the OFT was concerned only with the merger’s effects in four local areas in England and Scotland because only a few electrical wholesalers remained in those locales. Edmundson thus proposes to divest a branch in each of the four areas.
