The European Commission has approved public funding for regional development in Poland and Germany. The aid measures were found to be in line with the rules for large investment projects, as they stay within the limits on aid intensity, market shares, and the capacity created by the new investments.
In Poland, €83 million is to go toward investments for paper companies Mondi Åšwiecie and Mondi Packaging Paper Åšwiecie. The investments, worth €382 million, are for a new paper machine that manufactures containerboard, and a new cardboard box plant.
The German support is for Masdar, a solar modules producer. Masdar will use the €12.9 million state aid for a second solar modules production line.
