Czech energy companies’ obstruction of Commission investigation leads to €2.5 million fine

The European Commission has fined two Czech energy companies for tampering with information and obstructing a 2009 Commission antitrust investigation at their premises. The Commission was investigating possible restrictive business practices and abuse of dominance. Energetický a průmyslový holding and EP Investment Advisors did not block the email account of a key person as requested, diverted the incoming emails of certain blocked accounts, and failed to disclose all relevant documents.
