SAA and Singapore Airlines settle price-fixing charges

The South African Competition Commission has concluded settlement agreements with South African Airways (SAA) and Singapore Airlines for price fixing of flights between Johannesburg and Hong Kong. SAA is to pay R18,799,292 and Singapore Airlines will pay R25,106,692. The agreement with SAA also settles cases alleging collusion over international air cargo surchases, domestic route prices, and pricing strategies during the World Cup in 2010.
