The European Court of Justice has upheld the Czech antitrust regulator’s decision to fine electric equipment makers 979 million koruna (approximately $47 million) in 2007. Among the appellants were Siemens, Toshiba, Hitachi, Areva, and Alstom.
The fine had been overturned in 2008 by a Czech regional court because the companies were fined twice–the Czech fine came a month after the European Commission fined the companies for collusion on prices.
