Abertis fined € 13.8M for anticompetitive margin squeeze

The Comision Nacional de la Competencia has fined Abertis Telecom € 13,755,000 for abuse of a dominant position in the market for DTT signal transport and distribution services. An investigation had determined that Abertis exerted an anticompetitive margin squeeze on its rivals through the prices at which it provided service of access to its centers and the terms granted to customers in the retail market. Such behavior constituted violations of article 2 of the Spanish Competition Act and article 102 of the FEU.
