BTC and CBL say URCA’s proposed publication of separate accounting information is disproportionate
The Utilities Regulation and Competition Authority published a public consultation document proposing the publication of separate accounting information for the Bahamas Telecommunications Corporation (BTC) and Cable Bahamas Limited (CBL). The intent behind the publication is to support retail price regulation and provide more information to regulated entities. BTC and CBL have stated that such publication imposes unreasonable costs, and furthermore, would not accomplish URCA’s objectives and is thus a disproportionate measure.
