32M euro fine for price-fixing to be returned to Royal Philips and Sony

Royal Philips Electronics and Sony won their appeals against the Autorité de la concurrence in a Paris court. The judgment requires a 32 million euro fine (approximately $42.6 million) for price-fixing consumer electronics to be returned. The court found that after excluding evidence from secretly recorded phone calls, there was not enough evidence to uphold the fine.
