40 million euro perfume price-fixing fine upheld

A Paris appeals court upheld a fine of 40 million euros imposed by the Autorité de la concurrence in 2006 for perfume price-fixing. The companies fined are Jean-Paul Gaultier, Issey Miyake, Chanel, Clarins Fragrance Group, Hermes, Christian Dior, Clinique, Estee Lauder, Guerlain, l’Oreal, LVMH Fragrance Brands, Shiseido Europe and YSL. Three distributors were also fined: Marionnaud, Sephora, and Nocibe.
