Africa: Coca-Cola, SABMiller merge bottling operations across continent

Coca-Cola and SABMiller have reportedly announced plans to merge and streamline its bottling operations throughout Southern and Eastern Africa.

    The companies, as well as Gutsche Family Investments, plan to combine their non-alcoholic, ready-to-drink beverage bottling operations into a single entity, known as Coca-Cola Beverages Africa.

    The merged firm will serve 12 nations across the continent and hold 40 percent of all Coca-Cola beverage volumes there, Coca-Cola said.
