Africa: Zambian competition regulator hosts pan-Africa conference

For the fifth year, regulators gathered in Zambia to review competition principles as part of a mandate from the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, say reports.

Hosted by the Zambian Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, as well as the US Federal Trade Commission, the three-day conference gathered intergovernmental competition experts to discuss the theme of the conference, “moving cross-boarder collaboration forward.”

While the meeting covered various competition law topics, the UNCTAD introduced methods to revise the UN Guidelines for Consumer Protection in the context of a report released from the Ad Hoc Expert Meeting on Consumer Protection, held last July.
