Ahold acquisition of Dutch online retailer Flevo approved

The European Commission has cleared Ahold’s acquisition of Flevo. Flevo sells books, eBooks, DVDs, toys, music, games, software, and home appliances online, at bol.com. Ahold owns supermarket chains, and also sells products online at albert.nl.

The Commission found that the limited market shares of the two parties, along with strong competitors, does not give rise to competition concerns.
