Armenia: Telcos agree on infrastructure cooperation

Top Armenian telecommunications firms Rostelecom Armenia and ArmenTel have reportedly reached an agreement on how to share ArmenTel’s infrastructure.

    Rostelecom announced Friday the companies reached a deal for Rostelecom to lease some of ArmenTel’s infrastructure. The firms have reportedly already sorted out financial details of the agreement.

    According to reports, the companies were facing a dispute about the leasing of the infrastructure; Rostelecom claims ArmenTel attempted to gain excess profits from leasing its infrastructure, because it knew it was the only company in possession of the equipment needed by Rostelecom.
